Job Description: We are currently seeking experienced aircraft Flight Sciences engineers to support a variety of aerospace development programs. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of small, fast moving teams on advanced development projects, you’ll find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job. You will perform analysis, support testing and prepare documentation for a range of flight sciences disciplines.

Specific tasks include:

• Aircraft flight loads analysis
• Stability and control analysis
• Handling qualities analysis
• Flight dynamics simulation
• Aircraft mission and field performance modeling
• Wind tunnel and flight test data reduction
• Airplane flight manual development

QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires an understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts related to aircraft aerodynamics, flight loads, stability and control, and flight dynamics, as well as a solid mathematical background, a detailed conceptual understanding of aircraft dynamics, and strong attention to detail. Capable of simple hand calculations during early product development stages through to full computer simulations, testing and documentation for final certification. Candidates should possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team. Ideal candidate will be comfortable with engineering process development and capable of logical code development and data manipulation using Matlab or other scripting language. Familiarity with FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements is a plus. Familiarity with space systems is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  We are currently seeking experienced aircraft Loads and Dynamics engineers to support a variety of aerospace development programs.  As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of small, fast moving teams on advanced development projects, you’ll find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job.  You will perform analysis, support testing and prepare documentation for a range of Loads and Dynamics disciplines.

Specific tasks include:

  • Aircraft aeroelastic loads analysis for flight, ground and landing impact, supported by CFD, wind tunnel pressure model and flight testing
  • Prepare aerodynamic databases for use in external loads and dynamics
  • Implement models of the random nature of atmospheric turbulence and the effect of automatic flight control systems in determining structural responses and load distributions
  • Evaluate aircraft dynamic loads due to landing and taxi maneuvers
  • Provide solutions for aircraft flutter problems utilizing analysis and testing to provide input to improve preliminary aircraft design and to verify margins of safety with respect to flutter are adequate
  • Use Finite Element Analysis to calculate vibrational characteristics of both primary airframe structure and local secondary structure
  • Conduct and post process vibration testing both for total airframe modes and frequencies and local secondary structure transfer functions
  • Familiarization with DO-160 vibrational equipment qualification a plus

QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Must possess comfort and skill with computer analysis and programming including Microsoft Office and MATLAB-type analysis. JOB DESCRIPTIONS: We are currently seeking experienced aircraft Structural Design and Stress Analysis Engineers to support a variety of aerospace development programs. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of small, fast moving teams on advanced development projects, you’ll find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job. You will perform structural design or structural analysis, support development of conceptual design phases through to released engineering drawing and stress analysis reports, support testing and prepare documentation with a range of aerospace engineering disciplines.

Structural Design Engineers – Work with Aerodynamics, Loads, Flutter, Performance & Handling Qualities, CFD and Stress Engineers to develop airframe structural configuration layouts. Model initial concepts of new or modified aero-structures using CATIA V5. Generate and mature design concepts to the customer’s specified level of definition, which may be limited to lofted surface definition and Interface Control Models (ICM), or extend to the development of individual component models, assemblies and installation models and release of production drawings or MBDs. Work with the Stress analysis group to incorporate structural sizing requirements. Manage the product definition within a basic PDM environment. Support the generation and review of reports and presentation materials for internal and customer Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR & CDR) meetings.

Specific tasks include:

• Primary and secondary wing structures (Metallic and composite)
• Control surfaces and actuation systems
• Fuselage and empennage structures
• Integrated pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical system installations
• Aircraft mechanical systems
• Propulsion system installations
• Interiors

Stress Analysis Engineers – Work with Aerodynamics, Loads, Flutter, Performance, Handling Qualities, CFD and Design Engineers to develop load paths and airframe structural configuration layouts. Perform stress analysis to support development work, initial sizing or final sizing input for the following aircraft structures; wing and associated control surfaces and fixed leading and trailing edge structure, fuselage, empennage, control systems and secondary airframe components. Generate certification level structural analysis reports in support of TC and STC applications.

Analysis capabilities that may be utilized, but not limited to, are the following:

QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts related to metallic and composite aircraft structures and systems. Design applicants should have experience with industry standard hardware, materials, and manufacturing and tooling techniques. Should also be cognizant of design for weight, producibility, durability, and customer specific needs. Knowledgeable in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009 drafting standard. Production support (MRB) or aircraft modification and maintenance experience is a plus.

Stress Engineer applicants should have experience with the application of the appropriate analysis method depending on the phase or complexity of the structure, have exposure and knowledge of numerical modeling techniques with work experience using Patran/Nastran seen as a strong benefit. The ability to interrogate CATIA models and use a PDM system is viewed as a benefit. Well qualified applicants will have familiarity with FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements and processes, possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team.
