Summary:

TLG Aerospace is currently seeking a Program Manager to join our growing management team to support a variety of aerospace development programs. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will provide program management expertise and solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Emphasis is program management of the engineering life cycle from concept development through to certification.

Responsibilities:

The Program Manager responsibilities include:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain TLG’s Program Management system for establishing customer contractual authorizations, statements of work, project schedules and baseline project and task budgeting.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain TLG’s Earned Value Management system to establish performance metrics in the execution of projects, manage evolving work statements, lead change management and customer financial reporting requirements.
  • Work with customers, TLG senior leadership, engineering managers and internal project teams to provide program leadership, identifying project risk areas and developing risk mitigation strategies, including schedule, technical and financial aspect of the program.
  • Establish excellent working relationships with customers at multiple levels within their organization to identify and mitigate any contractual risks or concerns on existing programs.
  • Working with TLG’s Business Development organization, identify new business opportunities with existing customers which leverage TLG’s skills, capabilities, and experience.
  • Establish and maintain program cost and schedule metrics for all programs.
  • Identify program risks and coordinate program risk mitigations with Engineering managers.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor program charge lines in-line with program activities and SOW’s
  • Establish/maintain engineering resource projections based on new and existing program contracts
  • Specific areas of expertise and capabilities include, but may not be limited to:
  • Knowledge of the FAA engineering certification process
  • Management of customer Statements of Work requirements and Change Management
  • Development of Earned Value program cost and schedule management
  • Periodic cost, schedule, and risk Program reporting
  • Development of resource projections based on new and existing program contracts
  • Development with Engineering Managers of MS Project Scheduling
  • Evaluate Program Risks and develop with Engineering Managers of risk mitigations
  • Lead program teams with technical engineers and content which the PM may not have experience or familiarity

Qualifications:
Must have a solid understanding of engineering program management principles and concepts related to aerospace development programs.

The Program Manager will have experience with management of multiple concurrent programs and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a Program Management system which provides visibility metrics for the company leadership. Well qualified applicants will have familiarity with aerospace engineering program management including program milestone events and certification processes and requirements, possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will provide Business Development expertise and solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications.

Responsibilities/Expectations: 

The Director, Business Development responsibilities include:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain a Business Development Strategic Plan, with the involvement and partnership with the senior management staff and the engineering managers.
  • Development and growth of TLG’s aerospace core business base of customers which leverage TLG’s in-house, multi-disciplinary engineering capabilities.
  • Identify new customers and markets which are a strategic fit with TLG’s skills, experience, and capabilities.
  • Development and growth of business opportunities outside of aerospace market which also leverages these skills, capabilities, and experience resident in our engineering resources.
  • Develop and foster meaningful business relationships within our markets and industries that open up business opportunities for TLG
  • Manage the process of development of business proposals to our customers and coordinate internally as required to ensure that customer requirements are met
  • Provide regular and timely updates on business prospects which may be in work with anticipated outcomes
  • Attend regular industry shows and conferences representing TLG Aerospace to develop new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketi in development of a TLG Marketing Plan to achieve Business Development Strategic Plan
  • Advance use of TLG’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to provide leadership team valuable and current data on previous and existing campaigns and points of contact.

Qualifications:
Understanding of aerospace engineering business development principles and concepts related to aerospace development programs. Specific areas of expertise include, but may not be limited to:

  • Experience with engineering as a service and the FAA engineering certification process
  • Development of customer relationships resulting in business opportunities which align with company goals
  • Strong verbal and written skills representing the company’s business approach with customers
  • Easily assimilates complex tasks, projects, technical data and other customer requirements and apply the ability to synthesize these into strong presentation of company capabilities
  • Ability to stay current on customer accounts and provide status with existing customers if and as required.
  • Ability to grow business base with existing customers.
  • Strong marketing and business acumen

The Director, Business Development will have experience with interfacing with customers on a wide variety of layers in their organization, to recognize opportunities as they present themselves and to provide a clear and concise presentation of the skills, experience, and capabilities of the company. JOB DESCRIPTION:

TLG Aerospace is currently seeking a Design Engineering Manager to support a variety of aerospace development programs. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work with customers and internal project teams (Aerodynamics, Loads, Flutter, Performance & Handling Qualities, CFD and Stress Engineers) to lead the Design Engineering project efforts. You will manage and direct structural design program and support development of conceptual design phases from initial concept through to released engineering drawings.

Responsibilities: 

Design Engineering Manager responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with customers to develop and define statements of work which utilize TLG’s experience and capabilities.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Manage layout phase of initial concepts for new or modified aerospace structures,
  • Manage the generation of initial and mature design concepts to the customer’s specified level of definition, which may be limited to lofted surface definition and Interface Control Models (ICM), or extend to the development of individual component models, assemblies and installation models and release of production drawings or MBDs.
  • Manage the product definition within a PDM environment. Support the generation and review of reports and presentation materials for internal and customer Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR & CDR) meetings.
  • Manage the internal design team including assignments, scheduling, program reporting, and team member reviews.

Expectations:

Applicants should have experience with the application of design standards and techniques appropriate to the complexity and program maturity of the structure, and the ability to interrogate CAD models and use a PDM system. The applicant should have work experience using CATIA. Exposure and knowledge of numerical structural modeling techniques with, FEMAP, Patran/Nastran seen as a strong benefit. Well qualified applicants will have familiarity with FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements and processes, possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team.

You will perform structural design or structural analysis, support development of conceptual design phases through to released engineering drawing and stress analysis reports, support testing and prepare documentation with a range of aerospace engineering disciplines.

Structural Design Engineers – Work with Aerodynamics, Loads, Flutter, Performance & Handling Qualities, CFD and Stress Engineers to develop airframe structural configuration layouts. Model initial concepts of new or modified aero-structures using CATIA V5. Generate and mature design concepts to the customer’s specified level of definition, which may be limited to lofted surface definition and Interface Control Models (ICM), or extend to the development of individual component models, assemblies and installation models and release of production drawings or MBDs. Work with the Stress analysis group to incorporate structural sizing requirements. Manage the product definition within a basic PDM environment. Support the generation and review of reports and presentation materials for internal and customer Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR & CDR) meetings.

Specific tasks include:

  • Primary and secondary wing structures (Metallic and composite)
  • Control surfaces and actuation systems
  • Fuselage and empennage structures
  • Integrated pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical system installations
  • Aircraft mechanical systems
  • Propulsion system installations
  • Interiors

Stress Analysis Engineers – Work with Aerodynamics, Loads, Flutter, Performance, Handling Qualities, CFD and Design Engineers to develop load paths and airframe structural configuration layouts. Perform stress analysis to support development work, initial sizing or final sizing input for the following aircraft structures; wing and associated control surfaces and fixed leading and trailing edge structure, fuselage, empennage, control systems and secondary airframe components. Generate certification level structural analysis reports in support of TC and STC applications.

Analysis capabilities that may be utilized, but not limited to, are the following:

  • Classic Hand Analysis
  • Finite Element Analysis (Patran/Nastran)
  • Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Analysis
  • Test Support and Documentation
  • Certification Support and Documentation
  • MRB Support
  • Repair and Return to Service Support

QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts related to metallic and composite aircraft structures and systems. Design applicants should have experience with industry standard hardware, materials, and manufacturing and tooling techniques. Should also be cognizant of design for weight, producibility, durability, and customer specific needs. Knowledgeable in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009 drafting standard. Production support (MRB) or aircraft modification and maintenance experience is a plus.

Stress Engineer applicants should have experience with the application of the appropriate analysis method depending on the phase or complexity of the structure, have exposure and knowledge of numerical modeling techniques with work experience using Patran/Nastran seen as a strong benefit. The ability to interrogate CATIA models and use a PDM system is viewed as a benefit. Well qualified applicants will have familiarity with FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements and processes, possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team.

Job Description: TLG is currently seeking entry level and experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) engineers to support a wide variety of aerospace applications. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of small, fast moving teams on advanced development projects, you will find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job. Analysis will support cross functional applications with opportunities to acquire breadth experience in the other flight sciences applications such as loads, stability and control, aerothermal analysis, and aerodynamic design.

Specific tasks include:

  • Interface with cross functional team and conduct accurate CFD models for flow and thermal predictions.
  • Architect simulations and meshes for a wide range of applications including low-speed, supersonic, and hypersonic flow regimes.
  • Participate in validations of models through representative tests.
  • Create reports and present modeling results on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires an understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts related to aircraft aerodynamics, as well as a solid mathematical background, and strong attention to detail. Capable of simple hand calculations for high-level verification and script development for automation of repetitive tasks. You will perform analysis, support testing and prepare documentation for a range of flight sciences disciplines.

Specific tasks include:

  • Aircraft flight loads analysis
  • Stability and control analysis
  • Handling qualities analysis
  • Flight dynamics simulation
  • Aircraft mission and field performance modeling
  • Wind tunnel and flight test data reduction
  • Airplane flight manual development

QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires an understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts related to aircraft aerodynamics, flight loads, stability and control, and flight dynamics, as well as a solid mathematical background, a detailed conceptual understanding of aircraft dynamics, and strong attention to detail. Capable of simple hand calculations during early product development stages through to full computer simulations, testing and documentation for final certification. Candidates should possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well in a multi-disciplinary team. Ideal candidate will be comfortable with engineering process development and capable of logical code development and data manipulation using Matlab or other scripting language. JOB DESCRIPTION:  Loads and Dynamics engineers to support a variety of aerospace development programs.  As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of new aircraft and aircraft modifications. Working independently and as part of small, fast moving teams on advanced development projects, you’ll find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job.  You will perform analysis, support testing and prepare documentation for a range of Loads and Dynamics disciplines.

Specific tasks include:

  • Aircraft aeroelastic loads analysis for flight, ground and landing impact, supported by CFD, wind tunnel pressure model and flight testing
  • Prepare aerodynamic databases for use in external loads and dynamics
  • Implement models of the random nature of atmospheric turbulence and the effect of automatic flight control systems in determining structural responses and load distributions
  • Evaluate aircraft dynamic loads due to landing and taxi maneuvers
  • Provide solutions for aircraft flutter problems utilizing analysis and testing to provide input to improve preliminary aircraft design and to verify margins of safety with respect to flutter are adequate
  • Use Finite Element Analysis to calculate vibrational characteristics of both primary airframe structure and local secondary structure
  • Conduct and post process vibration testing both for total airframe modes and frequencies and local secondary structure transfer functions
  • Familiarization with DO-160 vibrational equipment qualification a plus

QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Must possess comfort and skill with computer analysis and programming including Microsoft Office and MATLAB-type analysis. Experience in aircraft static loads, dynamic loads or flutter analysis is desirable. Familiarity with MSC Nastran, MSC Patran or comparable applications a plus. Familiarity with aircraft a plus.
